The World’s Most interesting auctioneer
Commonly referred to as “The World’s Most Interesting Auctioneer”, Dr. Charles Joshua “Josh” Phelps has enjoyed a varied and diverse career as a servant leader in music, ministry, and the auction business. In addition to his career as an accomplished tenor soloist and conductor who has enjoyed performance opportunities in some of the world’s most celebrated venues such as Carnegie Hall, Phelps is also a 5-time Champion Auctioneer. He holds Champion titles from Oklahoma, Kansas, and Nebraska. He has also been named reserve Champion Auctioneer in Arkansas and has been a finalist at Regional Auctioneer Contests such as the Texas Lonestar Open and the Mule Day Auctioneer Championship. He is also a Real Estate Broker and serves as the principal auctioneer for KA Auctioneers. He founded Phelps Fundraising & Auctions with his wife Lacey in 2021, and through diligent work and consultation they raised well over $1,000,000 in their first year of operation. Though they serve countless non-profit clients, they specialize in Fine Arts and Religious Fundraising Events.
Phelps holds degrees in Vocal Performance from the University of Tennessee (BM), the University of Oklahoma (MM), and the Graduate Theological Foundation (DSM). As an active educator and vocal coach, he enjoys mentoring beginning auction professionals and teaches at Auctioneer University and the Oklahoma Auction School. He has been invited to present at multiple auctioneer state associations and conventions, and has competed in the International Auctioneer Championship at the National Auction Association Conference and Show regularly since 2022. Committed to the live auction method of marketing, Josh enjoys a steady schedule of auctioneering and announcing engagements locally, regionally, nationally, and internationally.
In his spare time, Josh loves attending tractor pulls and scuba diving with his wife. Together the Phelps family works throughout North Texas and Oklahoma and can be found enjoying life with their beloved rescue dogs: Gracey, Champ & Harvey.
